Early-bird special ends in one week!

Hi everyone 🙂

Thanks again for pre-ordering our games (or at least considering it)!

This is a quick post to let everyone know that in about a week, the early-bird specials for Kashgar and Criss Cross will go, to be replaced with (still discounted) prices of $46AUD for Kashgar and $16AUD for Criss Cross.

A month later, the prices will rise again. Thanks for getting in early 🙂

In other news, the final checking of the rules translations are currently underway and we will be finalising all production files very soon.

Any questions, feel free to ask!

The Grail Games box

Hi everyone!

We have about half of our originally slated pre-order copies of Kashgar left (500). Thanks so much for your support!

As mentioned in the previous update, we have planned to reduce the box size of Kashgar for the English edition. It will be approximately the size of a Carcassonne box. Everything will fit really nicely in this size.

So, here’s a sneak peek at the box art…

And for those wondering where the rest of the image from the Kosmos edition has gone, it is now on the spine! Here’s the full image as it wraps around from the front and on to the right-side spine of the box…

Updated box on its way

Hi all, thanks for considering to pre-order Kashgar and/or Criss Cross 🙂

This is a quick update to let you all know that our new box size (similar to Carcassonne size) has been approved by Kosmos. This means we can show you the English box art within a few days.

Why a smaller box? This will help save money on shipping the game, producing the game, and will also save your shelf space. Not just that, the original edition was in a box that many believed was too big – we will be cutting down on empty space inside the game box.

The art will not change, but the layout of the art will.

We are still on track to have all print files in the manufacturer’s hands within a fortnight so the production can commence. Many thanks!

6 day update: 200+ pre-orders have now been received (approx 300 left).

Kashgar Pre-order FAQ #1

Hi everyone! Kashgar and Criss Cross have been available to pre-order for a little under 24 hours now, and the response has been phenomenal! Thank you!

In response to some questions we have been getting, I thought I’d run through some in quick-fire style. If you have any further questions, please post them below…

Q: Is the shipping really free to [my country]?

Yes, but for a limited time. Once we hit the end of September (or we sell our allotment of pre-orders), the game will still be available, but we may begin charging shipping costs, as… well… it costs a lot!

Q: Can I order other things from your online store as well?

Yes, but only the special pre-order items come with free shipping, so if you live outside of Australia and New Zealand, you will be charged shipping for these products (which is a lot). These games are all housed in Australia, but Kashgar and Criss Cross will be able to be posted to you from outside Australia.

Q: When will the pre-order end?

Originally, the plan was for 500 copies of each game to be made available for pre-order customers. If these have not run out by December 31st, the pre-order will run until then. However, if these copies run out early, we may pull the plug on pre-orders. However, depending on how fast they go, we may be able to make more copies available – it’s all a bit up in the air at the moment. The current plan is:

August: Pre-order extra special price.
September: Production begins, pre-order special price.
October-December: Production finishes, pre-order normal price.
January-February: Order fulfillment.

Day one summary: We are closing in on 100 pre-orders of Kashgar!

Upcoming news: Finished Kashgar box art (once approved), Card Index booklet artwork, Criss Cross in more detail.

Thanks again – will speak again soon!
